Equivalency of Academic Credits
Introduction
Midocean University provides an opportunity for students to transfer credits of courses previously completed at accredited higher education institutions. This initiative supports students by accelerating their academic journey and further utilizing their efforts.
In line with this vision, the university has established regulations to outline the standards for equivalency for prospective bachelor’s degree students. These regulations detail the conditions, objectives, documentation requirements, and application process, ensuring transparency throughout the process. Additionally, it aims to guarantee that students meet the required credit hours and uphold the university’s academic quality standards.
Objective of Equivalency
These regulations are designed to set the criteria for evaluating and approving prior qualifications of prospective students, ensuring academic quality while allowing them to benefit from previously earned credits.
Students must submit their equivalency requests using the designated form upon enrolling in any of the following programs:
• Bachelor of Management
• Bachelor of Project Management
• Bachelor of Information Technology
• Bachelor of Digital Media
• Bachelor of Digital Marketing
Supporting documents must be included, such as academic transcripts and detailed course descriptions.
• Submission of a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Provision of an academic transcript listing all courses completed at a post-secondary institution.
• A clear, official copy of the transcript issued and stamped by an accredited institution recognized by the relevant higher education authorities.
• The credit hours of the course to be transferred must match or exceed the equivalent course at Midocean University.
• Students previously dismissed for academic or disciplinary reasons will not be eligible for equivalency consideration.
• Course descriptions issued by the previous institution must be provided for each completed course. These descriptions should outline course content, references used, and learning objectives.
Requests are reviewed within 3–4 weeks of submission, provided all required documents are attached.
